Are only people in business allowed to join Freemasonry
You can join freemasonry whatever you do for work, we have members that are tradesmen who work for themselves, factory workers as well as people who own there own business. Furthermore, having a job is not a prerequisite of being a Freemason, that said certain fee's are required and you are expected to be able to commit to these prior to joining.
Do you get "special privileges" once you are a Freemason?
Not at all, this is a myth. Being a Freemason does not mean you have to do any favours for other Freemasons and you are definitely not expected to. We do help each other as you and your friends would, for example if you needed a plumber and you had a friend who was one, you would first ask them.
