Costs

There is a misconception that anyone wishing to be a Mason must be financially advantaged. Although there are initial, annual, and ongoing costs you will find them far less than other hobbies and interests.

Joining

On the night a new Mason is initiated he will be asked to pay a one off joining fee of £74.40 and the annual subscription of £130. The annual charge will be calculated depending on the time of year the Mason has joined.

Annual

Our current annual charge is £130 per member and is collected by our treasurer in December. The money generated goes towards the cost of the building and other services needed to enable us to meet throughout the year.

Festive Board

After each meeting we sit down to a four course meal which is currently only £19. Wine, spirits and ales can be purchased from our bar which are very reasonably priced.

Almoners Fund

Raffle tickets are sold during the meal and it is optional to purchase them. You may buy as many or as little as you like, members typically purchase £5 worth. The money generated from the raffle usually goes to our Almoners fund which is used to send gifts to widows or flowers to masons and their family who may be ill.

Charity

We also have a collection for charity during our meal. Again this is optional and you are only expected to give what you can afford.. The money generated goes to the Lodge Charity fund which is given to good causes and those in need.

Covenant

Our aim is generate as much money as we can, not only for charity but also for Masons who may need help. Many Masons find that they are in a position to make a monthly contribution to this fund. Once again this is optional and you can pay whatever you feel you can comfortably afford. This is not compulsory or a binding contract and can be ceased at any time.
